Adult Driver Education

Learning to drive at 25, 40, or 60 is a different experience than learning at 16 — and it should be taught differently. Our adult program skips the classroom requirement and puts you straight in the car on a schedule that works around a job.

Built for adults

• No 30-hour classroom requirement — North Carolina doesn't require driver education for licence applicants 18 and over
• Evening and weekend lessons, including Sunday mornings
• Instructors who work in Spanish, French, and Vietnamese on request
• Automatic or manual transmission

Typical progression

Most adults with no prior experience are test-ready in 8 to 12 hours of instruction. If you've driven abroad and need to convert a licence, four hours is usually enough to cover local road rules and get comfortable with the test route.

First lesson

We start in an empty lot, not in traffic. You'll spend the first 30 minutes on controls, seat position, and mirrors before we leave the lot — no one gets pushed onto a main road on day one.
